Participating in a study group can be one of the most efficient and effective ways to spend your study time. The format allows you to elaborate concepts, explore questions, teach content, quiz each other, and practice problems – all research-backed ways to learn. More than that, studying with others is often much more fun and motivating than studying by yourself!
We encourage you to use the resources below to help you form and conduct a study group that will help you succeed in your classes this semester.
- First, check out the mini-workshop on forming a study group.
- Next, check out the mini-workshop on keys for success for your study group.
- Finally, use the attached summary handout to structure your time in your study group. It also has great ideas for active learning strategies to use together.
