Office of the Dean of Students
The Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS) works to create a living and learning environment in which students can maximize their academic potential. Our goal, consistent with the University’s mission, is to support student learning and interpersonal growth that creates engaged citizen leaders. With professional staff located on the second floor of Peabody Hall, throughout Newcomb Hall and in Gibbons House, students will find a team that is available to assist in navigating and developing a unique student experience grounded in the history and traditions of one of the finest higher education institutions in the world.
Dean on Call: The Office of the Dean of Students provides 24-hour crisis management and incident response services to University students. The dean on call may be reached by contacting the central office at (434) 924-7133 or, after hours, by contacting the University Police Department at (434) 924-7166 and asking for the dean on call.
The main office for ODOS is located on the second floor of Peabody Hall (next to Newcomb) and can be reached at (434) 924-7133. ODOS is made up of several teams, including:

The University Registrar (UREG) exists to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the academic records of the University. We provide services to students, faculty & staff, alumni, and other constituents in support of the purpose and goals of the University. These services include official transcripts, certification of enrollment, and more.
Each school of enrollment has a registrar as well. (School of enrollment could be School of Nursing, College of Arts and Sciences, etc.) Contact your school of enrollment with questions pertaining to:
- Academic Record – including grades, course schedule and degree requirements
- Academic Requirements Report
- Enrollment related questions
- Transfer and AP credits

Student Health And Wellness
Our goal is to help students reach their full potential by optimizing their well-being and health during their time at the University of Virginia and beyond. We work to accomplish this through excellent medical, mental health, and accessibility services, public health education and leadership, and our nationally renowned research and institutional partnerships. Our services are available to all registered students who have paid comprehensive fees with their tuition.
Student Health and Wellness includes: Medical Services, Counseling and Psychological Services, the Student Disability Access Center, and Health Promotion and Well-Being. Call or see our website for more information, location details, and appointments.
Student Financial Services
At Student Financial Services, we understand how complex the world of financial aid and student accounts may appear, especially if this year marks the first year you have attended college or have a student in college. Just about everything you need to know about managing your financial life at UVA can be found in the sections of the SFS website. We suggest you bookmark the homepage, accessible at sfs.virginia.edu or by clicking the “Student Financial Services” banner at the top of any page. On the home page are reminders about important dates, access buttons for both the parent payment and student portals, and the latest SFS news from social media.
